I know it’s been a while since I made an update, but I wanted to reintroduce my site dedicated to Laura’s ALPHAS co-star David Strathairn. David played the part of Dr. Lee Rosen, the head of the team. Please feel free to visit and peruse the site. I’m very proud of it and I hope you will be too. Click on the photo below or on the link in the sidebar under “Partner Sites”.
Somehow I got industriously bored and created over fifty avatars of Laura from her role of Nina Theroux from ALPHAS. They’re added to the new Icons & Avatars section of the site. I hope you enjoy. These are for message board profiles, social media accounts, and pretty much anything you’re heart desires. Click on the image below and enjoy.
Well, John’s at it again. I had hoped with a few days breather, he would cease and desist. Looks like that’s not likely. Here’s what he has said in a recent post (posted here under Fair Use for the purpose of commentary).
This page is focused on Positivity also cause Laura is about Positivity & Laura has said She does Not like negativity in this world & believes people should have Kindness & Empathy for each other 🙂 So i think She will enjoy that this page is more Positive. I still share links to the other Fansite & interview by another fan cause I’m also about Positivity & Kindness. This isn’t a page with alot of negativity posts. Anyways I think the other Fansite could have been trying to make Laura choose between us cause it doesn’t matter to that Fan since She has like over 30 other Fansites about other celebritys so She has nothing to lose by doing that. She can keep the super negative articles about me on her page as it will only just show negativity.
I’m not going to let anything like that get in the way of running this Fanpage.

Like Laura, I am all about positivism. I don’t like confrontation, nor do I like negative feelings. However, there comes a time when one has to defend oneself against attacks of a nature that are designed to target my integrity. Above all else a person’s integrity is paramount and John by the very nature of his taking what should have been a private thing public, he more or less dropped the gauntlet that could not go unanswered by me. He in effect slandered me. And again I am allowed to defend myself with the truth, not his ridiculous meanderings. It was never ever about one upping him. He claims that as a fan of Laura’s I’m somehow not a fan because I have other interests outside of Laura? The other fansites I have are, like this one, dedicated to people I have come to respect as much as I do Laura. Having come to Laura through my love of David Strathairn who played the part of Dr. Lee Rosen on the Syfy Channel’s program ALPHAS, I was impressed by Laura and her other co-star Warren Christie. But had it not been for David I would never have found either of them. John also doesn’t understand that I have a longer history of film and television than he has, and all of my fansites are just as valid as this one is for my reasons for creating them. I have very much to lose with all of them. All of them are equal in my eyes. All of them are my babies. The first one in particular dedicated to actress Tamara Braun having gone online back in 2006, and through that and the building of the others, I learned much in order to bring to this one what I have in terms of content and layout. And I know this might be very difficult for John to understand, but one can have more than one love. If someone were to have three children, does a mother love one more than the other two? I think not.
John says his page has a lot of “negative posts”… Well that’s on him alone. It’s not to do with me. Had he an actual understanding of what his actions did, then he might not have such negativity on his page. As for whether I want Laura to choose this site over his…. Ridiculous. More idiocy on his behalf. John once said to me about [paraphrasing] “Laura’s fandom is still young….” Yes it is. It is very young and one thing I know about these dedications people will choose the one that better serves their particular need. Whether that be a simple Tumblr page, or a full blown site… it doesn’t matter. John belittles Laura’s fans by saying what he did about wanting Laura to choose. I would never expect Laura to choose. That is both hubris and hyperbole on his behalf, and more of John’s showing he still hasn’t a grasp on what he’s done. We could still be honouring Laura by simply doing what I was asking him in the first place by not tagging Laura each and every time he had something to say to me. I think the word is decorum. And to insinuate that this site doesn’t matter to me as I have the others….. The amount of time I spend on each site is on a case-by-case basis depending on the amount of work the particular subject of the site has been doing, and our Laura is very busy with both VAN HELSING and TRAVELERS. Warren Christie is also busy due to his new show Eyewitness, so for the most part I’m spending a lot of time on their sites as oppose to say my site for veteran actor Keir Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey), whose show The Path is on hiatus. With my site for retired actor and friend Jon Cypher, most of the work is done as I get the photos, stills, screencaps and whatnot to go into it. Most of the other people I have sites on are not currently working or working on projects due out in the future, so there’s no reason to work on any of them. But again for John to even dare say that Laura doesn’t mean as much to me as the others is another instance of his behaviour going unchecked, and I want to thank John for belittling well respected stage and theatre actors, one who appeared in one of the most well respected, and influential films of all time in Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. Not to mention a person Laura has worked with personally and who she considers a friend in David Strathairn.
As for my “super negative articles” I have written about him here, see this is called defending myself against his ridiculous rantings. I am more than willing to delete these posts as I did the last time John attacked me, however, I’m tired of having him rant without my giving the truth, again, of what actually happened. And I want to thank those of you who have written me privately to give both your support to this site, and for your kind words to me personally. Unlike John, those communications will remain private because that’s how one conducts themselves in society. That’s called respect and kindness. Two things John has as yet to understand. I have banned John from viewing this site in all ways. He apparently went someplace to view it through another IP and thought I wouldn’t know. So I have banned a range of IPs I feel he might use. That’s the power of a personal website. He may still block me on social media and have his acolytes there, but he still does not and never will have the truth. That ban will not lift until I get that apology I am entitled to. I’m not vindictive and hate all that has happened, but I cannot and will not lie down and take it. I don’t have to. It’s real easy to sit behind a pseudonym on the internet. But my name is out there. I use my real name and as such it is being smeared, and I don’t like it one bit. If he truly wants to be positive, he can unblock me on social media, apologize, then see how magnanimous I will be. But I’ll always be cautious. Twice bitten, three times shy.
So the moral of this story is: Don’t start the shit if you don’t want it hurled back at you. And with that, business as usual…..
I wanted to announce that I have created a site for Laura’s ALPHAS and MOTIVE co-star Warren Christie (Cameron Hicks/Sergeant Mark Cross). And don’t tell me you didn’t see this coming? Come on, ya did! Just like Laura I discovered Warren through coming to ALPHAS via my love of David Strathairn. Warren as impressed me so much with his acting and his obvious handsome little boy looks. He’s a solid actor and I’m looking forward to bringing you more of his work. If you would like to check out the site, please click on the banner below to take you there.
Well it’s not like it’s about time! Yeah I know it’s been a long time no update, but I finally got around to making a new layout and posting about it. I hope you like the new layout I’m calling Laura Mennell Online :: Edgy. The first site layout I thought was playful, the second sophisticated. I was going to wait to let you see it after I’d finished the layout on the gallery, but here it is anyway. I’m planning on rolling out a lot of the updates to the gallery slowly. I’ve got a lot of work to do on other sites and I just have to try to apportion my time a little better to get them all done. I’m hoping to do that by the end of the year. For a list of all my sites, you can check them all out in the sidebar to the left under the ExLibris section. Please consider visiting. I’m also in the process of trying to get an update done to my site on Laura’s ALPHAS co-star David Strathairn who played Dr. Lee Rosen to Laura’s Nina Theroux, but so far like Laura here, I’m going to have to do that slowly. So I hope you like the new layout and will like the new format in the posts and sidebar content. Thanks for sticking with me and for being so very patient. You guys are great.
So I got my reason for not having a lot of Laura this past season. Her character of Samantha was killed in the season finale. Why must the television gods, or more specifically the Laura Mennell/Warren Christie gods be so vengeful. After season two’s revelation in ALPHAS that Nina had gone rogue and Hicks had taken up with Rosen’s (David Strathairn) daughter, Danielle (Kathleen Monroe), I thought with MOTIVE we’d finally get a good bit of story for Laura and Warren to flesh out what was started on ALPHAS. Not to be my friends. Samantha was killed in the MOTIVE season two finale. Damn it all to hell and back. Did I say the television gods hate me? I think what made this episode a little anti-climactic and Samantha’s death not truly being meaningful and Mark’s emotions as a result of her death a little on the dry side is due to the fact we were never really allowed to become too invested in their characters. While Laura and Warren have a chemistry bomb, their sad lack of use and or presence as a main part of the narrative left me, at least, feeling a little dry. While Samantha’s death scene was gut wrenching, I don’t think the impact was as fitting as it might have been. Laura and Warren acted the hell out of it, but nothing could make it any more emotional due to the lack of time spent getting to know them on a personal level. So sad Laura’s gone from the show. Here’s hoping she gets another series or film role soon. You’ll be missed Samantha and Laura.
